Ionia Weekly Standard, 16 Jan 1885

Saranac – Mrs. Matilda Anderson, aged 87, and for 30 years a resident of this
place, died Monday morning at the residence of her son, D.W. Anderson, the
result of a stroke of paralysis received about a week before death.  “Granny” as
everybody called her was well known, and universally liked.  She was buried
Tuesday afternoon.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that she was
buried in Saranac Cemetery.]
