Robert L. “R.L.” Anderson, age 70, passed away on April 30, 2014.  He was born 
on June 22, 1943 in Alma the son of Gerald and Esther Anderson. Bob retired 
from General Motors after 40 years of service.  Bob enjoyed golfing, tractors, 
going to garage sales, woodworking, tending to his horses and riding the trails 
with them. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.  Surviving are his wife of 35 years, 
Cherie; children Rob (Jami) Anderson of Portland, Marcie (Kevin Henning) 
Anderson of Portland, Kellie (John) Jones of Lansing, Jeff (special friend, 
Melissa) Anderson of Muir, and Nola (Allen) Brown of San Antonia, TX; 
grandchildren Jessica and Linsi Anderson, BrieAnna (Gunner) Miller, Paige and 
Karly Henning, Jonathon (Jessica) Jones, Ashley Murphy, Nico Jones, Kaylee 
Jones, Dakota Jones, Chase Anderson, Clay Anderson and Hunter Brown; great 
grandchildren BraLeigh and Stryker Miller and Mackenzie Jones; siblings James 
(Doreen) Anderson and Larry (Mary) Anderson; his Golden Retriever, Shea Shea ; 
his horse, Tenny. 

The Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. Roy Atherton at 11:00 a.m., Monday, 
May 5, 2014 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment 
followed at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. The family received friends 2-4 and 
6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
