Ionia Sentinel-Std. - Sat. Jan. 30, 2021

Irene May Andres, 91, of Ionia, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Jan. 14, 
2021. Irene was born on May 1, 1929, in Belding, Michigan, the daughter of Fred 
and Margaret (Reinhardt) Houseman. She married Robert (Bob) Andres on July 7, 
1950. She dearly loved her family and her animals. She was always very generous 
and wouldn't miss a family event. Irene worked as a school cook at Rather 
Elementary School for around 30 years. Irene and Bob enjoyed square dancing and 
playing in a band. She was a long time constituent of the Easton United 
Methodist Church and a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge.

Bob preceded Irene in death on Sept. 24, 2007. Irene was also preceded in death 
by her daughter, Deb. Towner.

Irene is survived by her son, David Andres )Laura Spiller); sister, Hilda 
Donovan; granddaughter, Heather (Drew) Johnson, Stacey (Gabe) VanderWulp and 
Maggie (Brad) Simons; great grandchildren, Loren and Sarah Johnson, Aaron and 
Leah VanderWulp and Cade and Marley Simons; and daughter-in-law, Donna Andres. 
As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at the Easton 
United Methodist Church, 4970 Potters Road, Ionia. The family received friends 
from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial contributions cam be made to Easton United Methodist Church. Online
