Ed was born on OCt.3, 1919 at home, the son of Peter and Margaret Hiebald Andres. Ed as a decorated World War II Veteran, proudly serving in the United States Army earning two bronze stars and a purple heart during the Battle of the Bulge. Ed was a excellent automobile mechanic and had worked at Sharpe Pontiac in Greenville and later at Jonas Pontiac-GMC in Belding. He was married on Sept.24, 1946 to Sylvia Camp and she preceded him in 2009. He was also preceded by his parents; three sisters, Norma, Leora and Wilma; and two brothers, Arnold and Robert. Ed is survived by his children, Sandra and Charles Cornell of Elsie, Roger and Diane Andres of Belding, and Tom and Marsha Andres of Rochester Hills; his grandchildren; Steven, Buffy and Jeff, Bryon and Niki, Matt and Karen and Tommy; his great grandchildren: Alison, Abigail, Connor, Brooklyn, Kyla, Kaylie and Briley; one sister, Marjie of California; and a sister-in-law, Irene Andres of Ionia. Mass of Christian Burial will e 10 a.m.Thursday at St.Mary Catholic Church, Miriam, with Father Fred Brucker presiding.Rite of Committal will follow in St.Mary Cemetery. Military Honors will be given by the Honor Guard of the Belding VFW Post 4406. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a Rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church.
