The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, July 11, 1959
Mrs. Bernita M. Andres, 51, of 323 Harter Street, died Friday afternoon.  She 
was born April 20, 1908 at Portland the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert 
Simmons and moved to Ionia as an infant with her parents.  Making her home in 
Ionia most of her life, she attended SS. Peter and Paul academy and was 
married August 28, 1933 to Leo Andres.  She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul 
Catholic church of Ionia.  

Besides her husband Leo, she is survived by two daughters, Judith and Marcia, 
and a son, Rodney; three sisters, Ann Simmons of Grand Rapids, and Doris and 
Teressa Simmons of Traverse City.  

Funeral service will be Monday morning at 9 o’clock from Ss. Peter and Paul 
church with interment at Mt. Olivet cemetery.  Rosary will be said at Phelps 
funeral chapel Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
