He was born on April 29, 1928 on the family farm in Belding, son of Peter and Margaret Andres. Bob was a long-time constituent of Easton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed holidays with his family, square danced for 30 years and could fix any car that rolled in his driveway. He retired from Consumers Power in 1990 and spent his retirement pursuing his interests of hunting deer and turkey, camping and playing guitar at the Commission on Aging Thursday evenings, at various nursing homes and with his band the “Country Folks”. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but we know he is playing the guitar God picked out for him while he waits for us in heaven. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene (Houseman); son, David; daughter, Deb (Harry) Towner; granddaughters, Heather (Drew) Johnson, Stacey (Gabe) VanderWulp and Maggie Andres; great-grandchildren, Loren and Sarah Johnson and baby VanderWulp (due in January); brother, Edwin (Sylvia)Andres; sister, Margie Kooze; daughter-in-law, Donna Andres; sister-in-law, Hilda (Richard) Donovan and many special in-laws, nieces, nephews and lots of friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at the Easton United Methodist Church, 4970 Potters Rd, Ionia, with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. A lunch served by the Easton UMW will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Contributions can be made to the Easton Church, the Ionia Commission on Aging or Safe Haven Humane Society in Bob's name. The family would like to thank Ionia Area Hospice for their wonderful care during the last two weeks.
