Andring, 64, of Ionia passed away Friday evening, June 26, 2015, at St. Mary Mercy Health in Grand Rapids. Edward was born on Nov. 16, 1950, in Wyandotte, the son of Edward W. and Helen E. (Bendel) Andring. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a corrections officer with the State of Michigan for 25 years, working in the Ionia area prisons until retiring in October of 2010. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. He had attended Shiloh Community Church. Edward is survived by his children: Edward A. and Tracey Andring of Kansas, Stephanie Andring and Steven Andring, all of Ionia; a step-daughter, Nicki and Robert Pant of Muskegon; the mother of his children, Katherine Mier of Muir; his grandchildren, Derrick Andring, Kurstin and Gabe Shaver, Austin Pant, Nicholas Pant and Breana Pant; one great grand daughter Caylee Mae; his siblings, Betty Bolyard, Robert Andring, Patricia and Ronald McCue, William Andring and Joseph Andring, all of the Detroit area; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Edward was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Following the service a luncheon will take place at church. No visitation will be held. Memorials may be given to Shiloh Community Church.
