Ionia Standard - Thursday, Oct. 26, 1893

Mrs. Catherine M. Aniba, who suffered a shock of paralysis on Monday, died 
Tuesday evening. She had been a sufferer for several weeks. She was the wife 
of W. T. Aniba, and her age was 72 years, five months and three days. The 
funeral services will be held from the M.E. Church  Friday morning at 10 
o'clock. Interment in Highland Park.

Catherine M. Temple was born in Hagartown, Md., May 29, 1821, and was 
married to Wm. T. Aniba, May 30, 1841. She was the only daughter of John 
Temple, by his first wife.

In early life she was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran church, but 
united with the M.E. church soon after coming to Ionia.

To Mr. and Mrs. Aniba eight children were born, three of whom are still 
living, Alfred A., Arthur A. and Mrs. Wm. Mead. 

Mrs. Aniba was a woman who always preferred home life and was well known to 
all Ionians as "Aunt Kate." She was highly respected by all.
