Tuesday January 23, 1951

William J. Annis, 66, of 728 Jones street, died at his home Tuesday at 7:20 
a.m.

He was born in Maple Rapids, May 9, 1884, and spent most of his life in 
Belding and Gratton until he moved to Ionia in 1942. He was employed as 
janitor at Pipers tavern for about three and one-half years until he was 
forced to quit his job last summer when he was taken ill. 

Surviving are the wife, the former Kathryn Myers; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace 
J. Perrien of Ionia; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grace Canfield, of 
Belding; and a  niece, Rita Kennedy of Belding.

Funeral services will be held at Myers funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. The 
Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding will officiate. Interment will be in River Ridge 
cemetery.

Friday January 26, 1951

Funeral services for William J. Annis, 66 of 728 Jones street were conducted 
from the Myers funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. H. S. Ellis of 
Belding.

Bearers were Barney Beerman, Milton Gaut, Bert Bailey and Wallace Perrien.

Interment was in River Ridge cemetery, Belding.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. John Knowlton and 
Mrs. Frank Malone of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Milo Donovan of Gratton, Mrs. 
Richard Jewell, Mrs. Arista Richmond, Mrs. Grace Canfield and Miss Rita 
Kennedy of Belding and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hull and Mrs. Ralph Anderson of 
Lansing. 

Annis died Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
