At 11 years of age he moved with his parents from Ohio to Indiana, and in 1859 he was united in marriage to Naomi Shaffer. To this union ten children were born, four dying in early childhood and Leo in 1909. Those living are Darwin, Milo. Herman, Absolom and Odem. In 1876 he moved his family to Michigan, where they have since made their home, living on several different farms. He leaves to mourn their loss, an aged wife, five sons, three grandchildren, a great-grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Esther Stell of Hannibal, Missouri. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. I. H. Mourer, and the interment made in Lakeside cemetery.
