She was then married to Geo. E. Antcliff and in 1845 they came to America, lived in Canada four years, moved from there to Washtenaw county, Mich., and lived there four years; from there they moved to Ionia county, burying her husband in 1863. She was the mother of nine children, seven of whom survive her. She departed this life August 21st, 1894. ---- Grandma Antcliff, who has been sick for a long time, passed quietly away Tuesday, August 21st. The funeral was largely attended from the Green church, Thursday forenoon, Rev. Willard Ogden officiating. She was laid at rest in the Orleans Center cemetery by the side of her husband, who died December 27, 1863. Mrs. Antcliff’s maiden name was Fanny Brownlow. She was born in Nottinghamshire, England, on March 27th, 1809. She was married to George Antcliff, about 1833. They moved from England to Canada, living some years near Toronto; afterwards moving to Manchester, Washtenaw county, Michigan. Then coming to Orleans in 1854 and soon after moving onto the farm where she died, which was then a wilderness. She was the mother of nine children, seven sons and two daughters. Six sons and one daughter survive her. Three of her sons were soldiers in the late war, one of whom, Joseph E., died of wounds received in the battle of Atlanta, and her youngest daughter died in infancy. She leaves besides her children, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Raby and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
