Mr. Antcliff had been in a very critical condition for the past year, suffering from dropsy, and had been unable to lie down for several months, owing to the difficulty in breathing. William J. Antcliff was born on March 16, 1852 at Adrian, Michigan and departed from this life on August 26, 1927 at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 4 days. He moved here with his parents at the age of three years and has spent practically all of his life on the old homestead. He was united in marriage to Miss Lucinda Westervelt February 11, 1877 and to this union was born eight children of whom six are living. He leaves to mourn their loss, besides his devoted wife, three daughters and three sons; Mrs. Fred Freeman, of Greenville; Mrs. Lew Schroader, of near Greenville; Jim Antcliff, who lives on the farm and is working the place; Mrs. Arthur Rowley, of Belding; Mate Antcliff, of near Belding, and Mr. Bert Antcliff, of Belding. Twenty-four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also a host of other relatives and friend survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Orleans Methodist church with Rev. H. E. Curch officiating. Interment was made in the Green cemetery.
