January 24, 1952 George Anthony, Former resident, Dies in Flint. George Anthony, 60, passed away in Flint, Friday while en-route to the hospital following a heart attack. He was born in New York state, June 7, 1891. He was married to Miss Velma Noud of Big Rapids, December 6, 1916 in Lowell. The family lived here and he was employed in the Belding Basket factory.They moved to Flint 15 years ago where he was enployed in the Buick Plant. Surviving are his wife Velma, three daughters, Mrs. Joyce Gault of Flint, Mrs.Jean Sibal of Detroit and Janet, at home.One daughter died in infancy. There are three brothers, David of Flint, William of Wooster, N.Y., and Leroy of Amsterdam, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Mavel Sorum of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs.Emily Spencer of Wooster, Mass.; and Mrs.Marian Sekula of Detroit and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 o'clock at Ellis Funeral Home, Rev. H.S.Ellis officiated with burial in River Ridge Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Claude Johnson, Ernest Hansen, Earl Richardson, William Richardson,Leroy Wood and Lester Bradley. Additional Comments: River Ridge Cem., #107-Sec.2 Belding, Mich.
