Lake Odessa Wave
   MRS. NELLIE ANWAY PASSED AWAY
  Mrs. Nellie V. away 88 passed away Sunday evening at Sunset Acres near Hastings
where she had been a patient for several months.  She had been in ill health for a 
long time and was hospitalized before being transferred to the nursing home.
  A native of Odessa township, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Dailey,
early pioneers of the area.  
She married Edward Away, November 11, 1894 and had spent much of her life in the
Lake Odessa area on the farm and home in the village with the exception of several 
years in Detroit, Alma and Lansing.
  Mrs. Anway attended the EUB Church and was a member of the Martha Circle of the
church, the Showermn group of the Methodist Church, Royal Neighbor lodge and past 
member of the Rebekah lodge.
  Surviving are her husband; 10 grand children; 40 great grand children and 9 great
great grand children.  Her son Verle passed away November 30, 1949.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with
burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated.
