He was born July 15, 1899 in Odessa township and had resided on the farm where he was born most of his life. They would have celebrated their thirty-first wedding anniversary December 14. Surviving are his wife Edna, three sons, Donald of Detroit, Richard of Lake Odessa and Leroy of Grand Rapids; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles (Geraldine) Prys of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Wayne (Onalee) Gilliland, Mrs. Gaylord (Lorraine) Chorley, Mrs. Arnold (Bethel) McLeod of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Reynolds of Elmdale, Joan and Shirley at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Away and fifteen grandchildren. Mr. Anway reposes at the Pickens chapel until Saturday noon when he will be taken to the Evangelical United Brethren church where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.. Burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. O. R. Heltzel will officiate. Joan, 14, who suffered a fractured right leg above the knee and injuries to the face is still a patient at Pennock hospital.
