February 27, 1972 Youth Dies In Auto Mishap Owen R. Anway, 17, of Roy, Utah, died last Wednesday afternoon of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. The youth was traveling south on US-84 highway in Roy when his car hit a retaining wall. Officer Kay Hargis of Roy said the youth was on his way home from work at the IRS Ogden Service Center and may have fallen asleep. The car veered left, crossing both northbound lanes and off the road, knocked down a utility pole and went through fences before hitting the cement wall. Owen was born July 7, 1954, in Ogden, the son of Richard and Florence Anway. He was a student at Roy High School and in 1971 received an outstanding achievement award in marketing. He also placed third in the Utah State distributing Education program conducted at Weber State College. He was a mail clerk at the IRS Ogden Center and formerly worked at the Skaggs Drug Center in Roy and was a priest in the Roy Second LDS Ward. Surviving are his parents; a brother, Jack, and a sister, Mrs. Steven (Kathleen) Roberts, both of Ogden; two grandmothers, Mr. Myrtle Greer of Ogden and Mrs. Harold (Edna) Dronenberg of Lake Odessa, and a great- grandmother Mrs. Evelete Burton of Ogden; also uncles and aunts and other relatives in the area. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 AM at Myers Mortuary Chapel, with Bishop Richard Thornley of Roy Second Ward Officiating. Burial was in Aultorest Memorial Park.
