Mrs. Anway lost her husband ten years ago and since this time she and her daughter Mrs. Anna Cummins have lived together in their home on the corner of 5th Avenue and 2nd Street, until Saturday morning when she passed away. Mrs. Anway was of a quiet loving nature, and was always unusually healthy until her last illness when her system seemed to collapse. The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon, Rev. A. E. Gay of the Congregational church preached. Burial was at Lake Side. Hattie Frantz was born in Seneca County, New York, December 17, 1854 and died July 31, 1926. She came with her parents to Odessa, Ionia County, Michigan a the age of sixteen. She was married to Ira Anway in 1873. Three children were born to them, Bertha Richmond, who passed to the Great Beyond May 1898, and two daughters, Anna Cummins and Glennora Kloss. Two daughters and seven grandchildren survive her. Her entire weeded life was spent on their farm north west of town. At the death of her husband she, with her daughter Anna , moved to their present home in Lake Odessa.
