Edward Anway, 93, former Lake Odessa resident, died about 4:40 p.m. Monday at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Prys, at Marne, where he had lived the past six months. For 68 years, Mr. Anway operated the family farm in Odessa township, where he was born August 13, 172. It was purchased by the Anways from the government in 1854. His parents were Alanson and Susan Beard Anway. Besides farming, Mr. Anway was a painter and decorator and had lived in Alma, Lansing and Detroit 16 years while he was employed by lumber companies. He returned to the farm and resided until moving to the village 31 years ago. Leading an active life, Mr. Anway maintained his lawn and did his won garden work until two years ago. His wife, Nellie died August 2, 1964. Survivors include 10 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harold Dronenberg of Lake Odessa. Funeral services will be at Pickens funeral chapel Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Morris Reinhart of Marne and interment will be at Lake side cemetery.
