Mrs. Susan Anway After a Lingering Illness Passed away, April 26 Always Cheerful.

Another of the old residents of Lake Odessa passed away at the home of her son
in Grand Rapids, April 26.  She was a loyal member of the Order of Eastern Star
keeping her dues always in mind as the years rolled around.  She was of a
lovable cheerful disposition and well known to her many friends of the older
generation.

She was lovingly cared for by her son during her last days.

Obituary

Susan Jane Beard was born November 6, 1854 in Hillsdale County, Michigan and
passed away at the home of her son, Orin M. Anway, Grand Rapids, Michigan, April
26th, 1926, aged 71 years, 5 months and 18 days.

November 5, 1871 she was married to Alanson M. Anway of Odessa.  To this union
five children were born, C. Edward of Detroit, Orin M. of Grand Rapids, and
Lilah A. Curtiss, also of Grand Rapids, Harmond L. and Grace I. who passed away
in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Anway lived in Odessa until Mr. Anway was called to the Great
Beyond, August 4, 1915, since then Mrs. Anway has made her home with her
daughter, Lilah Curtiss, with the exception of the past two and a half years
that she was with her son Orin.

She was in poor health the past five or six years and entirely confined to her
bed four years, yet never complaining, and always a smile and pleasant word for
all.  She was a loving wife and mother, a kind and sympathizing friend and
neighbor and her kind words and pleasant smiles will be greatly missed by all
for to know her was to love her.

She leaves to mourn their great loss, one daughter, two sons, six grand
children, four great grand children and many friends.
