                                   ARBOUR

Della Joy Arbour age 82 of Ionia passed away July 15, 2022. She was born August 
8, 1939 in Smith Center, Kansas the daughter of William Dick and Edna Margaret 
(Newbrey) Winkelmann. Della spent the first 16 years on the farm with her 
parents in Athol, Kansas. She moved to Gaylord,Kansas upon retirement of her 
father in 1956. Della spent her first two years in a country school, upon its 
closing she attended school at Cedar through the 8th grade and later went to 
Gaylord High School where she would graduate majoring in business courses. She 
would later attend Brown-Mackie Business College in Salina for one year. 
following college Della went to work at the National Bank of America in Salina.

Della would meet the love of her life Edwin Peter Arbor in March of 1959 and 
they married January 16, 1960 while Ed was in the Air Force. After Ed completed 
his 4 years int he service, they moved to Lansing, Michigan in September of 
1960. To their union they were blessed with Six Children Jean,Karen, William, 
Jeffrey, Dale and Timothy.

She accomplished her lifelong dream of owning her own Beauty Salon. Della 
operated the salon in her and Ed's home in Mulliken, where she could fulfill her 
life as a wife, partner to Ed and Mother and Grandmother and in the process work 
to earn a few of the extras in life. Della believed God was her constant 
companion and friend. She loved outdoors ad worked many hours to beautify their 
yard and home. Della loved her God, husband Ed, children, grandchildren and 
parents with all her heart.

Surviving Della are her husband Edwin Arbour of Ionia, Children Jean Hayes of 
Dewitt, Karen Cross of St.Helen,MI, William Arbour of Tennessee, Jeffrey Arbour 
of Virginia, Dale (Sarah) Arbour of Merrill and Timothy Arbour and Michelle 
Aldrich of Saranac. 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia Friday, 
July 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.mwith Father tom Brown presiding. Those wishing may 
make memorial contributions to Shriners International or St.Jude Children's 
Hospital. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in ionia. Online condolences
