Daniel L. Archer, 79, of Lake Odessa died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday 
night.  He was born June 8, 1896, in Morley, the son of George and Mary Filkins 
Archer.  He moved to Lake Odessa as a small child with his parents.

He was a farmer in the Lake Odessa area for a number of years and later was 
employed by the E.W. Bliss company of Hastings 14 years.  He retired in 1961.

He was married to Alice Kauffman Nov. 29, 1916 in Lake Odessa.

Surviving are his wife, Alice, four sons, Glendon of Ionia, Charles of Lake 
Odessa, Wayne of Ionia, and Thomas of Florida.  Also surviving are three 
daughters Mrs. Genevieve Bowerman of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Geneva Dryer of 
Hastings, and Mrs. Alice Lorraine Nimo of Ohio; 16 grandchildren, one great 
grandson; 12 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.  One 
sister also survives Mrs. Amie Carpenter of Grand Rapids.

Services will be conducted Friday at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel at Lake 
Odessa, at 1:30.  Interment will be in the Lakeside cemetery.
