Ionia Shopper's Guide - Saturday June 1, 2024

      ARDIS

Carol Ardis, aged 86, of Ionia, passed away May 29, 2024, in Ionia. He was born 
March 2, 1938, in Muir, MI the daughter of Charles Nelson and Gertrude May 
(Nolty) Dowsett. Carol married Howard Ardis April 8, 1978. He preceded her in 
death February 20, 2024.

Carol worked art Meijer and attended SS.Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was a 
lifelong member of the Ionia Moose and was an avid golfer.

Carol is survived by her children, Julia (Mark) Bennett, Stephen (Norma) 
Lazarus, Ruth (Sean) O"Malley. Jonathan (Stacy) Lazarus and Joy (Dave) Struble; 
siblings, Charles (Marion)Dowsett, James (Carol) Dowsett, Ruth (James) 
Christianson, and Sally Dowsett and numerous grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Beth Sue 
Lazarus and grandsons, Zehariah James Miller, Ryan Patrick Kent and Matthew 
Dwayne Wells. 

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 
at SS.Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father John Ardis presiding. Visitation 
will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Friday 4-7 p.m with a vigil service 
at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to Paulist
