Ionia Sentinel, Jan 1994

Donald Scott Ardis, 27, of Ionia died Jan. 23, 1994, at Butterworth Hospital.  
He was born the son of Howard W. and Charlene (Stowell) Ardis on May 9, 1966, 
in Ionia.

He was graduated from Ionia High School in 1984.  He was employed by Burggrabe 
Masonry in Greenville.

Surviving are his wife Wendy; one son, Nicholas; one daughter, Aubrey; one step-
daughter, Nicole; his father, Howard W. Ardis of Ionia; his mother Charlene 
Flinn of Grand Rapids; grandparents, Samuel and Helen Stowell of Palo, and 
Gertrude M. Dowsett of Lowell; one brother, Howard Timothy of Ionia; two step-
brothers, three step-sisters; aunts; uncles and cousins.  He is preceded in 
death by Bernard Ardis and Bertha Ardis.

Funeral Mass and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at SS. 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with the Rev. John Ardis officiating.  
The organist will be Mary Cusack.

Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Cook 
Funeral Home, Ionia.  The prayer vigil service will be at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at 
the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kurt Hanline, 
Greg Spitzley, Roger D. Flinn, Chuck Stephens, Steve Nelson and Shawn Curry.  A 
memorial has been established for the wishes of the Ardis Family in care of the 
funeral home.
