Armour, 63, died unexpectedly Monday morning at 7:30 at his home after a long period of ill health. Coroner Dale Kauffman attributed death to pneumonia. Born March 20, 1894 in Ionia county, he was a son of Monroe and Alma (Robinson) Armour and spent his entire life in the local area. His earlier years were associated with his father in the dray line business and he operated the business after his father’s retirement, until it was discontinued. He was a veteran of World War I and served overseas. During World War II he was employed in a war plant in Lansing. Survivors are his wife, the former Mae Philo; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Norten of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Clayton (Mable) Burleigh of Clarksville; three brothers, Barrett of Ocala, Fla., Boyd of Phoenix, Ariz., Ford of Perris, Calif., nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at the Pickens funeral chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. A. J. Pitman and burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. The body is at the Pickens funeral chapel.
