Greenville Library Pioneer Scrapbook

Miss Carrie E. Nelson was born at the old homestead, Otisco, Ionia county, May 
20, 1858.  After the death of her mother in 1863, she went to live with her 
uncle Rozencrans Divine, in whose home she was married to Mr. Charles Armstrong 
Dec. 25, 1878, and returned to the old home where she died Feb. 7, 1872.  She 
was an amiable, lovely woman, respected by her numerous friends.  Her funeral 
sermon was preached from Psalms 88:18, by Rev. C. Spooner, who attended the 
funeral of her mother in 1863, and her grandmother a little previous, embracing 
three generations.  She left a husband, but no children.
