The Carson City Gazette, Friday, December 21, 1917
David S. Armstrong was born at Wayne, Michigan March 12, 1834.  He was married 
to Emeline Field September 22, 1858.  She was called home August 29, 1876.  To 
this union were born five children, three children having gone on before.  Two 
daughters, Mrs. Addie Allen of Lowell and Miss Flora Armstrong of Grand 
Rapids, and five grandchildren remain to mourn their loss.  

Mr. Armstrong had been a life-long member of the Methodist church and had 
lived a consistent Christian all his life.

The funeral services occurred Friday afternoon in the large living room at the 
home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hawken and were conducted by Rev. W. W. Hurd of the 
local Methodist church, with the burial at Hubbardston.
