Mrs. Janice E. Arnold, 44, wife of Douglas M. Arnold, former resident of 
Saranac and Woodland died Wednesday at the Leila Post hospital at Battle 
Creek.  Her address was 17102 Eleven Mile road, Battle Creek.  She was a home 
economics teacher having taught 11 years at the Battle Creek Harpers Creek high 
school and prior to that has taught at Vermontville and Ionia high schools.

Surviving are her husband, Douglas M. Arnold; son, Wayne at home; two 
daughters, Catherine and Marti at home; mother, Mrs. Charles Lynch of Flint; 
and a half sister, Mrs. Nancy Birdsey of Grand Blanc.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Maple United 
Methodist church at Battle Creek.  Rev. Brent Phillips will officiate.  A 
scholarship fund has been established for the Harpers Creek high school at 
Battle Creek or a memorial fund for the American Cancer society.
