Ionia Sentinel Standard, 19 Jul 1971

George William Arnold, 83, of route 1, Muir, died Saturday afternoon at Ionia
Manor following an extended illness.  He was born in Ludington, October 3, 1887,
the son of George and Carrie Arnold.  He moved to Pewamo where he attended
school and was later maintenance man at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company and its
successor.  He was also a carpenter.  He was married August 10, 1909, in Saranac
to Ersel Millard and she survives.

Surviving besides his wife and a son, Phillip of Lansing; daughter, Mrs. Russell
Conner of rural Ionia; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four
brothers, Roy of Kalamazoo, Bert and Herbert of Lansing and Keith of Hastings;
sister, Mrs. Blanch Fenner of Detroit.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shaw-Rivett-Hull funeral home in
Muir.  Rev. C.R. Harrison of Lyons Baptist church will officiate and interment
will be at East Plains cemetery.
