David L. Arnold, 67, of Traverse City, formerly of Portland, died Aug. 17, 2009
at Orchard Creek Skilled Nursing in Traverse City after a one year bout with
cancer.  David was born Jan. 26, 1942 to the late Leslie J. and Wilda M.
(French) Arnold in Perry.  He married Josette Sue Fralick on Feb. 20, 1960 at
Laingsburg First Congregational Church.

In his early years, David enjoyed being a member of 4-H, and later worked as a
farmer, truck driver, and bus driver.  He also enjoyed old engine shows and
spending time with his grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his son, David Kevin Arnold, a daughter-in-law,
Karen Arnold and his parents.  

David is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Josette Sue Arnold of
Traverse City; his children, Jonathan Arnold of Sunfield, Kimberley (James)
Trappen of Grand Ledge, Jamie (Cheryl) Arnold of Lake Odessa, Mary (Thomas)
Chapman of Traverse City, Jayne Arnold of Traverse City; six grandchildren,
Jessica and Jennifer Arnold, Joshua and Olivia Trappen, Jarred Arnold and Cole
Chapman and many other beloved family members and friends.

Memorial services were held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse
City with Dr. Gary Hogue of First Congregational Church officiating.  Rather
than flowers, the family asks that David be remembered through a memorial
donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital – The Memorial and Honor
Program (P.O. Box 3704, Memphis TN 38173-0704) in his name.
