Arnwine, for half a century a resident of this community and for the greater part of that time superintendent of the Belding-Hall Co., an institution which grew, during the time he was connected with it, to many times its original capacity and magnitude. Mr. Arnwine had been a prominent man in the community. He had served his neighbors as alderman and had also been appointed to serve on various boards and committees, always rendering a faithful and complete service. He had been for many years a director in the Belding Building and Loan Association, resigning that position a short time ago. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at two o’clock from the residence on High street, under Masonic auspices and with Rev. H.S. Ellis, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. Burial was in Otisco cemetery by the side of his wife and a daughter, Allie, loved ones who preceded him in death some years ago. As a mark of respect and honor to the memory of Mr. Arnwine, the factories of the Belding-Hall Company were closed and remained silent all Monday afternoon. Many of the employees attended the funeral and among them were some who had worked under Mr. Arnwine during all the time that he was in charge of the local factories. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Y. Reed, of Birmingham and Mrs. Carroll Spicer, of this city.
