Elijah Aris, a resident of this city for the past 20 years or more, died at his 
home Tuesday morning about four o’clock.  For more than a year he has not been 
able to do much work, gradually failing until he was obliged to take to his bed 
a few days ago.

The deceased was 66 years old and leaves two sons, Ed Aris of this city, 
Seymour Aris, of Elm Hall, and two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Bennett and Mrs. 
Minnie Smith, both of this city.  The funeral was held at his late home near 
the Catholic church Thursday afternoon and his remains placed to rest in the 
cemetery by the side of those of his wife who died about a year ago.  Rev. 
Maxfield officiated.
