The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, December 26, 1947

Anthony Ash, 56, died Christmas morning at 8:30 o’clock in Traverse City after 
a lingering illness.  He was born in Isabella county near Beal City January 
21, 1891, and was a Belding resident since 1938 when he moved from Remus.  He 
was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church in Belding and of the Ionia chapter 
of the B.P.O.E.  In 1912 he married Ama Straus who survives him.

He leaves besides his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Chester Church of Dewitt, 
Mrs. Henry Bullard of Flint and Mrs. Russell Thompson of Lansing; four sons, 
Celestine of Plymouth, Stanley and Frank of Belding and Dick, stationed with 
the army air corps in Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. 
Mary Theisen of Remus and Miss Kathryn Ash of Detroit.

Funeral services will be conducted from St. Joseph’s Catholic church in 
Belding Saturday morning with the Rev. Fr. C. E. Speves officiating, with 
interment in the family lot at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
