Ionia Daily Sentinel, 20 Jul 1956

Mrs. Frances A. Ashby, 78, a life-long resident of Ionia, died at 11 p.m.
Thursday at the O’Berry convalescent home of North Jackson street.

Mrs. Ashby, who had lived at the corner of Rich and East Washington streets, was
born May 10 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ashael J. Root.  Her husband Ed
Ashby died in 1945.

Mrs. Ashby was a member of the I.H.A. Mission of Ionia.  She is survived by two
nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services are to be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the Myers funeral
home.  Burial will be at Balcom cemetery.
