Ashcraft, age 58, of Owosso, died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at his home. He was born May 21, 1947 in Covington Kentucky to Randall and Cora Louise (Holt) Ashcraft. He lived most of his life in Michigan and attended school in Covington, Kentucky and graduated from Lansing Adult Education. He was married to Josephine Foster on May 28, 1972 in Phoenix, Arizona. Jim was employed as a mechanic/maintenance worker for the State of Michigan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, and watching football – especially the Oakland Raiders. He loved to spend time with his “babies.” He is survived by wife, Josephine Ashcraft of Owosso; three children, Marie Ashcraft, Isiah Ashcraft and Izabella Ashcraft, all of Owosso; two grandchildren, Hannah Ashcraft and Adriana Ashcraft, both of Owosso. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Michelle Ashcraft in September 2004, and one sister, Elizabeth Ashcraft. Funeral services will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel Wednesday, October 12, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Curt Dewitt officiating. Mr. Ashcraft will be buried in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Ionia. Visitation is one hour prior to services on Wednesday morning. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owosso Seventh Day Adventist Church.
