Lyons Herald, 18 Jan 1908

Died at her home in this village on Saturday, January 11, 1908, Martha P. 
Ashley, aged 64 years.  She had been ill for several months, being lovingly 
administered to by her husband and daughter.

Deceased was born in Illinois January 11, 1844, and passed away on the 64th 
anniversary of her birth.  She was married to John Ashley and to them were born 
two children, Mrs. C. H. Randall of Lyons and Leon Ashley of Sioux City, Iowa.  
She had lived in Lyons many years and was highly spoken of by everybody.

The funeral was held on Monday from the Methodist church, of which deceased was 
a member, Rev. H. E. Wylie officiating, assisted by Rev. H. W. Powell.  The 
music was furnished by Messrs. Henderson and Harwood and Mesdames Wolford and 
Upton with Mrs. Henderson as accompanist.  The pallbearers were A.S. Bunnell, 
F.T. Gleason, C.W. Lung, E.N. Thayer, B.H. Stevens, D.S. Johnson.  Interment in 
Lyons cemetery.
