Feb. 18, 1975 Mrs. Louise Astle, 81, of 715 North State road died Monday evening in Ionia Memorial hospital after being a patient four weeks. Born in Middleton, Lancashire, England, November 21, 1893, she was the daughter of George and Catherine Maloney Ashworth. She moved to Little Current, Ontario, Canada, in 1920 and was married to Alan Astle, June 17, 1920. In 1927 they moved to Ionia and made their home on North State road the past 47 years. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1970. She had been employed at the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company of Ionia in the early 1920's. She was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal church. Surviving are the husband, Alan, a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Kernen of Ionia; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Annie Cheetham of Fleetwood, England. Funeral services will be Thursday at St. Johns Episcopal church. Rev. Charles Lynch will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery. Members of the family will be at the Leddick funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial has been established for the St. Johns Episcopal Church.
