Harold Augst, age 88, died January 24, 1998.  Born November 26, 1909, in Berlin
Township.  Harold was a lifelong farmer and was employed at TRW in Portland for
19 years, retiring in 1972.  An avid fan of sprintcar racing and Detroit Tigers
baseball, he also enjoyed fishing, wood cutting and his dog, Bruno.  We thank
the staff of TenderCare West in Lansing for their loving care.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Augst (1982) and sister, Helen
Williams.  Surviving are his daughter, Judith A. Olender (Charles) of Fairfax,
VA; son, John A. (Mary Ann) of Sunfield; 4 grandchildren, Alyson Olender, Elise
Olender, Rachel Augst and Will Augst; aunt, Eileen Sutphen of Sunfield; several
nieces and nephews and special friend, Ellen McCormack.  

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the Rosier
Funeral Home Mapes-Fisher Chapel, 193 Jackson St., Sunfield.  The family will
receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Contributions may be made to the
Ionia County Meals On Wheels Program.
