Augst, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Augst, was born in Odessa township, March 4, 1893, and departed this life at his home Dec. 6, 1922, aged 29 years, 9 months and 2 days. September 22, 1915 he was united in marriage with Miss Reva Cross of Sebewa. To this union was born a daughter, Ruth Jean, November 22, 1922. He leaves to mourn his loss this daughter, his wife, a father and mother, one brother, Leon Augst of Odessa and six sisters, Mrs. Jennie Carter of Odessa, Mrs. Minnie Canfield of California, Mrs. Mary Shaw of Odessa, Mrs. Eva Bishop of Texas, Mrs. Florence Ainsworth of Berlin township, and Mrs. Ruby Geiser of Lansing, Mich., besides other relatives, all his near neighbors and a host of friends. Ever a kind and loving husband, the married life, seemingly short, will always be remembered, by th wife, with pleasant thoughts of a happy home. To have Ernest as a neighbor was a privilege indeed. Always willing and anxious to do a kindly act, the neighborhood in which he lived, has suffered an inredeemable loss. Until about two years ago, Ernest had enjoyed more than ordinary good health. About this time his health began to fail. Not being of a complaining nature the disease, which caused his death, became deeply seated before his friends were aware of his condition. As the symptoms became more alarming he was taken to the Pennock hospital at Hastings where everything possible was done to stay the ravages of the disease. As everything had been done that could be done for him, by his request, he was brought back home and passed away at his home. God above, with his infinite love, Has a care for all things below; Though the reason why we cannot tell He knoweth and doeth all things well. The funeral was held at the Central M.E. church, conducted by Rev. R. E. Showerman, the pastor, assisted by Rev. Hatfield, pastor of Sebewa Baptist church. Interment in Lakeside cemetery. ---------------- CARD OF THANKS ----------------- We hereby wish to express our most heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the minister, the singers, neighbors and friends for the flowers, comforting words and all assistance rendered during the recent illness and bereavement in your family.
