Gerald Augst Passes Away

Gerald "Scotty" Augst, age 62, of 6843 Vedder Road, Lake Odessa, passed away 
Friday December 2, 1977 at the Community Hospital, New Port Richie, Florida 
where he had been a patient since Wednesday.

He was born February 6, 1915 in Lake Odessa, the son of Leon and Ethel 
(Richardson) Augst and graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1934. Mr.Augst 
married Rose Cook November 2, 1935 in Angola, Indiana. He was a lifelong 
resident of the Lake Odessa area and spent the last six winters at his winter 
home in Springhill, Florida, He was a veteran of WW II and was employed at 
Fisher Body in Lansing, retiring in 1969 due to disability.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; three sons, Ernest of Decatur, Vaughn of 
Mattawan, and Owen of Round Hill, Virginia; two daughters, Mrs.George 
(Geraldine) Winsley, Mrs.Michael (Bonnie) Rockafellow of Warsaw, Ind.; 
(Margaret) Jackson of Lansing; one brother, Leonard Augst of Reed City; and 18 
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel, Lake Odessa. Rev. George Speas and Rev. Michael Rockafellow officiated 
with interment in Lakeside Cemetery.
