AUNGST Died yesterday December 30, 1954 at home. Death due to Coronary Thrombosis after shoveling snow. Born Feb.12,1889 in Berlin Center, Ionia Co., Mich., lived there for 36 yrs. Son of Charles C. and Jane (Murray) Aungst. Married Emma Dolphin on April 17, 1926. John had been a boilermaker with the Grand Trunk Railroad for 31 years. He retired several months ago. Was a World War I Veteran, served with the Quartermaster Corps, 85th Division and a member of General George A. Custer, American Legion Post. Survived by wife, Emma; two step-daughters, Mrs. Jack (Sarah) Boner of Fulton and Mrs. Joe (Opal) Gillespie of Jackson; one step-son, Luther Dolphin of 15 Burr St.; seven sisters, Mrs Minnie Williams of Stanton, Mrs Mary Duvos of Grand Rapids, Mrs Fern Lippert of Lansing, Mrs Gertrude Baker of Sheridan, Mrs Florence Horak and Mrs Sadie North of Carson City, and Ruth of Ionia; two brothers, Clyde and Ray, in the West; eight step-grandchildren, and eleven step-great-grandchildren.
