Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 20 Feb 1920

Mrs. May Edith Austin, aged 24 years, died at her home at 311 ˝ West Main
street, over E.C. Lange’s store about 6 o’clock this morning of influenza and
pneumonia.  Mrs. Austin leaves a husband and a five-year-old daughter, the
little girl also being critically ill.  The bereaved husband has been caring for
his stricken family.  The condition of the little girl is reported to be very
serious Mr. and Mrs. Austin came here some time ago from Lake Odessa, where the
remains will be taken for burial.  Mrs. Austin’s maiden name was May Edith
DeGraw and her relatives live near Lake Odessa.  The remains of Mrs. May Austin
will be shipped to Lake Odessa where the funeral services will be held Saturday
morning.  Interment will take place in the Lakeside cemetery.
