The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, June 15, 1951


Eugene Austin, 78, of Grand Rapids, who was a former partner in the Ionia 
Creamery company, died suddenly at his home Thursday night.  He was part owner 
of the creamery with Hiram and Earl Darling from 1911 until the fall of 1924 
when he left Ionia to go to Sparta where he was owner of the Sparta Creamery 
company.

Mr. Austin had been a resident of Grand Rapids for a number of years.  Mrs. 
Austin is a cousin of Ralph Donalson of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Sullivan 
funeral home on Division street in Grand Rapids.
