The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, March 15, 1963


George L. Austin, 55, died Thursday at Osteopathic hospital in Grand Rapids.  
He had been ill three weeks and was hospitalized one week.  He was born 
February 13, 1908 in Kent, Ohio, and was married July 12, 1933 to Velma Tapley 
who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Donald of Saranac; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Jones of 
Portland; seven grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allie Austin of 
Saranac; a brother, Burton Austin of Saranac, and a sister, Mrs. Elmer 
Hendrickson of Ravenna, Ohio.

Funeral service will be at Morris funeral home Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with burial 
at South Boston cemetery.  The Rev. Karl E. Pike of Galilee Baptist church will 
officiate.
