Sentinel-Standard - 14 October 1970
A resident of Ionia for the past 20 years and formerly employed by various auto 
agencies locally as a mechanic, Wayne K. Austin, 57, 171 East Main died in 
Sunshine hospital in Grand Rapids Tuesday evening.

Born in Grand Ledge, November 19, 1912, he was a son of Mr and Mrs Orrin Austin.

While making his home in the Ionia area he was also employed five years at 
Chrysler trim plant in Lyons.  He was preceded in death by his wife Helen during 
September 1968.

Surviving is one daughter, Mr Carol McPheek in Ohio; one brother, Charles of 
Mulliken; one sister, Mrs. Laura Proctor of Alma, his step-mother, Mrs. Lavancha 
Austin, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm October 16, from Myers-Roetman funeral home, 
the Rev Marvis Hale of Temple Baptist church officiating.

Burial will be at Orleans cemetery.
