Joan M. (Rumfield) Austin
SUNFIELD, MI.- Joan M. Austin, age 81, of Sunfield, died December 6, 2018.

Mrs. Austin was born April 14, 1937 in Orangeville, a daughter of Charles M. and
Jennie C. (Bedford ) Jones, Sr..  She attended Compton School and Grand Ledge High School, In
1954 she married Robert Rumfield and later married Gary Austin. Joan was a former
4-H Leader, secretary of Sunfield School and retired from Blue Care Network.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; an infant daughter, Denise Rumfield; 
grandson, Danny Rumfield; sister, Marian Anway and brothers, Stanley and Charles M.
Jones, Jr.

Surviving are her daughters, Robin (Dale) Shaffer of Grand Ledge and Susan (Mike)
Roper of Sunfield; son, Tim Rumfield of Sunfield; six grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; sister, Claryce Sayer of Sunfield and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, December 10, 2018, at Barker-Leik funeral Home, Mulliken,
with Pastor Jeff Schrock officiating. Interment was in Danby Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Aaron and Eric Brace, Korey and Mick Cooper, Jeff Diamond, Jon Mudry, Jeff and Nick
Rumfield.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Sunfield S.P.Y.S.  or the American Cancer
Society.
