                              GARY LEE AUSTIN

Gary Lee Austin, of Alma, age 54 beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, 
uncle and friend passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Gratiot Medical 
Center, Alma, Mich.

He was born on March 15, 1954, to Glenn and May "Lucile" (Little) Austin in 
Alma. He married (Ilene)Yvonne Manning on June 30, 1979 at the First Baptist 
Church. He worked for Alma Iron and Metal for nine years as an accountant and 
Hoskings Geo Physical for nine year. He was a Deacon at the Ithaca First 
Presbyterian Church and a Secretary for the Democratic Party. Gary also enjoyed 
photography, especially weddings, wood working and working on computers.

He was preceded in death by his father and daughter, Elizabeth Yvonne Austin.

He is survived by  his wife, of 29 years, Yvonne, of Portland, formerly of Alma; 
his son, Michael (Christa)Austin of DeWitt, foster children,Patrick Demon of 
Nebraska and Jody Forehand of Muskegon; granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Austin; 
foster grandson, Alex Dettloff; mother, Lucile Austin of Alma; sisters, Sue Fox 
and Sally Austin of Alma and Kathy (Tom) Morrisson of Canada and aunts, uncles, 
many nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.


Visitation will be held on Monday, 10 a.m.to 1 pm.prior to the 2 pm. Funeral 
service at Lux-Moody-Wolfe Funeral Home, 531 North State Street, Alma,MI with 
Pastor Jim Bear officiatingInterment will be in Wright Cemetery, Alma, at a 
later date. Memorials may be given to Angel Food Ministries of St.Louis, the 
Child Advocacy of Alma, or Alzheimer's Association in his memory. To view Gary's
