               AUSTIN

Charles Alfred Austin, 88 of Saranac, went home to his Lord & Savior on December 
31, 2023.

Born September 30, 1935 to Burton & Elma Austin. Charles married Doris Benjamin 
on June 11, 1955. They hve six children, Lou Ann Cole, John (Patty) Austin, 
Larry Austin, Shirley Austin (Chad Murphy), Jim (Shawn) Austin, Steven (Angie) 
Austin,17 grandchildren, Kristin Dykstra, Kevin (Tracy) Cole, Kraig (Katie) 
Cole, Chad Austin, David (Brooke) Austin, Ryan (Emily) Austin,Amanda (Dan) 
Swarts, Dakota Austin, Eric Dickrson, Darrin (Kathy) Card,  Tyler (Jasmine) 
Card, Brandon Card (Onnika Bell), Matthew (Maggie) Austin, Jordan 
(Kristen)Austin, Rebekah (Andrew) Smith, Ashley & Nathan Austin; 18 great-
grandchildren; brother Robert Austin, sister Katherine Monda, sister-in-law 
Miriam White and brother-in-law Don (Carol) Benjamin. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law Kenny Cole, sister-in-
law, Debra Austin and brothers-in-law Paul Monda and Foss (Butch) White.

Charles was a charter member of South Boston Bible Church, long-time member of 
the Gideons.He served 6 years in the Army National Guard, served as a delegate 
to the Michigan Milk Producers. He worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed Co. and other 
farm organizations.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at South 
Boston Bible Church, 6958 Kyser Road, Lowell,Michigan.Funeral will follow at 
11:00 a.m.
