Frank J. Aves, 86, a resident of Portland 18 years, died Monday evening at his 
home, 506 Kent street.  He was a retired Reo Motor company employee having 
worked there 28 years and previously was a blacksmith in Sunfield.  

His wife, the former Carrie Evans, died in 1951.  Two sons also preceded him in 
death.  Surviving are four grandsons, LaVern Aves, Layton and Otto of Lansing, 
and Richard Aves of Saginaw; one granddaughter, Mrs. Lavetta Highlen of Grand 
Ledge; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Neller funeral home in Portland Thursday at 2 
p.m. with burial at Sunfield cemetery.  Bearers will be the grandsons, LaVern, 
Layton, Otto and Richard Aves, and two great-grandsons, Ronald and David Aves.
