Born October 27, 1896 in Sheridan, she was a daughter of Andrew and Mary Peterson. She married Irving Avery February 27, 1916 in Ionia and had lived at present residence for seven months, coming from Greenville October of 1956. She was a member of the First Baptist church, V.F.W. auxiliary and C.C. W. class of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Irving; two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Hill of Pontiac, and Mrs. Louise Carrigan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her mother, Mrs. Mary Peterson; nine grandchildren; eight sisters, Mrs. Earnest Wheeler and Mrs. Frank Krywanski of Ionia, Mrs. Laura Chadwick and Mrs. Viggo Nelsen of Stanton, Mrs. Leona Fryover of Mason, Mrs. Minnie Clark of Belding, Mrs. Gerald Bozung of Pontiac and Mrs. Ida Tombs of Greenville; two brothers, Albert Peterson of Belding and William Peterson of Sheridan. A son preceded her in death in 1945, a veteran of World War II, killed in the European theater. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral home with the Rev. Alfred Miller, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in Balcom cemetery.
