The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, February 1, 1958


Mrs. Sarah Jane (Jenny) Avery, 98, died at Clark Memorial home in Grand Rapids 
Friday evening.  She was a resident of Ionia many years, and had lived in the 
Clark Memorial home for the past two years.

Mrs. Avery was born January 2, 1860.  Her husband was Nelson G. Avery who has 
been dead for more than 40 years.  She was a member of the Methodist church for 
85 years.

Surviving are three nieces: Miss Mae Avery, Ionia; Mrs. R. J. Hartley, Royal 
Oak, and Mrs. E. B. Folst of Rivers Junction.

Funeral services will be held at the Clark Memorial home chapel Monday at 1:30 
p.m.  Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery, Ionia.  The Rev. Heath 
Goodwin will officiate.
